What We Considered
We’ve had our eyes on Paravel for a while now. Paravel is known for their covetable weekender bags and TSA approved carry-ons— and if you’re looking to shop luggage we’ve got you right here. Paravel has spearheaded sustainable travel necessities with items like their easily foldable bags and backpacks, made of Negative Nylon (about 22 plastic water bottles). In fact, Paravel has upcycled 1.6 million plastic water bottles to date through their luggage and bag offerings.
That’s why you should get in the know about their newly launched Café Collection. Paravel has partnered with Italy’s most reputable 105-year-old factory to hand make one-of-a-kind upcycled totes made of coffee bags sourced from traders in Brazil, India, Nicaragua, and Tanzania.
“The Café Totes allowed us to take a more artisanal approach to a natural material. Jute sacks which had previously been used as coffee bags were hand-cleaned and hand-crafted into eye-catching totes in Italy, giving them a second life.” — Indre Rockefeller, Co-Founder
Something especially covetable about this collection of coffee bean bags, is that each one is handmade from upcycled sack - making them one-of-a-kind and uniquely yours. And when we say that these bags are completely ethical and sustainable, we mean it. The coffee roasters Spiga and Cafés Dos Brasil are both also known for their ethical production of coffee, making even their origin something you can feel good about.
This bag is proof that sustainable fashion isn’t just about making basics that last— it’s also about how trends can become a reality without the harmful effects of fast-fashion, hence why sustainability is so important for Paravel as a brand, and for us as consumers.
“It's not lost on me that as a travel goods brand, we send our customers out to explore this wonderful world we live in and in doing so, have the opportunity and obligation to minimize our impact on it. We have made a commitment to contribute towards preserving this planet for generations of explorers to come.” — Indre Rockefeller, Co-Founder
